Our Mission
Intercultural Ministries exists to serve as an agency
of the Assemblies of God for the evangelization of
culturally distinct people groups in America.
People are coming to America from every nation, giving
the church a unique opportunity to reach the world
by reaching those who are coming to us. Intercultural
Ministries provides for the appointment and oversight
of national U.S. missionaries who are called to take
the good news to those people groups whose evangelization
involves specialized understanding and preparation.
Currently, about 400 IM missionaries are ministering
to the various ethnic people groups and in compassion
ministries to those who are blind or visually impaired,
deaf, persons with a physical or mental disability,
kids at risk and others.
With the goal of encouraging and raising up leaders
from among these various groups, IM Missionaries are
involved in programs of training and mentoring including
the Schools of Urban Missions, Native American Bible
Schools and Development Centers as well as our Language
Seminars for non-English speaking ministers and laypersons
interested in becoming involved in ministry.
IM is committed to the establishment of self-governing,
self-supporting, self-propagating churches and ministries
among these cultural groups.
